Metapan made 23-of-30 charity shots (76.7 percent) during the game, while San Salvador only scored four points from the stripe. Worth to mention a great performance of Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds. Alberto Liriano (-1998) contributed with 26 points (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners. Four Metapan players scored in double figures. Dominican forward Adonis Lopez (-1997) answered with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field) and Luis Valle (190-1997) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for San Salvador. San Salvador's coach William Avalos rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win.
