Very expected game when 8th rankedAbejas (2-8) lost to third ranked Halcones (6-2) in Xalapa 73-87 on Friday. Halcones looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Montenegrin power forward Kristina Rakovic (186-1994) nailed 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and American Lauren Manis (185-1998, college: Holy Cross) accounted for 21 points and 9 rebounds. American power forward Khari Clark (188, college: Stony Brook) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import guard MarShay Moore (173, college: Oregon) added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Abejas in the defeat. Four Abejas players scored in double figures. Halcones maintains third place with 6-2 record having five points less than leader Fuerza Regia. Abejas lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with eight games lost.
