Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Santo Domingo:Leones (#4) and Soles (#8). Leones (1-2) won against visiting Soles (0-3) 83-71 . Leones dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Soles ' 30. Leones forced 19 Soles turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for Kevin Perez who led his team to a victory with 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). American guard Brachon Griffin (185-1992, college: ECSU) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Four Leones players scored in double figures. Naturalized American Luis Martinez (198-1984, college: William Pater.) answered with 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and naturalized American Gerardo Suero (196-1989, college: Albany, agency: BMS Sport Agency) added 12 points in the effort for Soles. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
