There was a minor upset in Quibdo-Choco where their close opponentPiratas (7-19) were crushed by eighth ranked Cimarrones (7-18) 90-71 on Thursday. Cimarrones dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Piratas ' 22. Cimarrones forced 19 Piratas turnovers. American forward Corey Sanders (188-1997, college: Rutgers) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winners and Jocsi Colina chipped in 20 points. Five Cimarrones players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Jeremy Smith (180-1997, college: CSUSB, agency: Diamond Sports) with 16 points and 6 assists and the other American import guard Tristan Jarrett (193-1998, college: Jackson St.) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cimarrones have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place. Piratas lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 19 games lost.
