Rather expected game when 6th rankedRojas (7-11) lost to third ranked Halcones (13-5) in Xalapa 65-71 on Thursday. Halcones made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American-U.S. Virgin Islands swingman Imani Tate (175-1995, college: Albany) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Croatian forward Andrijana Cvitkovic (190-1994, college: Dayton) accounted for 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Canadian guard Shaina Pellington (173-1999, college: Arizona) came up with 17 points and 8 rebounds and Spanish center Umo Diallo (192-1998) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Rojas in the defeat. Four Rojas players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Halcones . They maintain third place with 13-5 record having just three points less than leader Adelitas. Rojas lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 11 games lost.
