An interesting game was also surprising home defeat ofSanta Tecla 2 in a game versus Salvadorenas 2 (#8) 62-49 . Salvadorenas 2 forced 26 Santa Tecla 2 turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Salvadorenas 2 made 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for guard Gabriela Escobar (162-2007) who led the winners and scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Cuban forward Eilen Gilbert (183-1998) accounted for 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winning side. Salvadorenas 2's coach Ray Santana used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Mariandrea Ambelis came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and Costa Rican point guard Gabriela Alvarado (177-1997) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Santa Tecla 2 in the defeat.
