No shocking result in a game in Matagalpa where fifth rankedCosta Caribe (3-2) smashed bottom-ranked Indigenas (0-4) 119-62 on Thursday. Costa Caribe dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Indigenas ' 42 and made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Indigenas 52-28 including a 36-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Costa Caribe looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Indigenas ' players. Worth to mention a great performance of Puerto Rican guard Jorge Matos (185-1992) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and American-Puerto Rican guard Robert Nieves (186-1999, college: Graceland) who added 20 points and 7 assists during the contest. Five Costa Caribe players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international guard David Toruno (-1992) responded with 18 points and American guard Tylan Tylan (185-1999, college: Rogers St.) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Loser Indigenas still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Leones.
