Regular Season Round 6: Batanecas - Ahuachapan 103-68

Bottom-rankedAhuachapan is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to fourth ranked Batanecas (4-2) 103-68 on Saturday evening. Batanecas forced 32 Ahuachapan turnovers and outrebounded them 58-37 including a 25-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Cuban center Rachel Contreras (184-1999) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 20 rebounds. Cuban guard Maria Montero (176-1998) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Four Batanecas players scored in double figures. Batanecas' coach Joel Lozano felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cuban point guard Dairis Tornell (176-1992) replied with 31 points and 9 rebounds and Marcela Carias added 18 points in the effort for Ahuachapan. Batanecas moved-up to third place, which they share with Santa Tecla 2. Ahuachapan at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost.
