Bottom-rankedAbejas (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 105-96 loss to tenth ranked Halcones UV Xalapa (4-1) in Xalapa. Halc.Xalapa shot the lights out from three nailing 21 long-distance shots on high 56.8 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. American forward Jordan Glynn (200-1989, college: SF Austin) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 rebounds. Argentinian forward Alexis Elsener (195-1988, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Elsener is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Mustapha Heron (196-1997, college: St.John's) answered with 19 points and the other American import power forward Torren Jones (206-1994, college: William Penn) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Abejas. Four Halc.Xalapa and five Abejas players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Halcones UV Xalapa . Halc.Xalapa moved-up to seventh place. Abejas lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost.
