The biggest surprise took place in Metapan where hostMetapan (6-0) beat league's leader San Salvador (6-1) 81-63 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of San Salvador. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-1984) fired a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Britney Jones (174-1987, college: UAB) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Metapan players scored in double figures. Cuban Anisleidys Galindo (181-1989) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 19 rebounds and Cuban point guard Arlenys Romero (176-1984) added 27 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side. San Salvador's coach Rainel Panfet rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Metapan have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. San Salvador at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Metapan.
