Rather expected game when 7th rankedSantiagueno (2-6) lost to fourth ranked Salvadorenas 2 (5-3) in Usultan 48-55 on Sunday. Salvadorenas 2 dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Santiagueno 's 26. They outrebounded Santiagueno 48-26 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by Cuban forward Eilen Gilbert (183-1998) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and guard Gabriela Escobar (162-2007) supported her with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Salvadorenas 2's coach Ray Santana allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 19 points and 8 rebounds by Mexican Gema Roa did not help to save the game for Santiagueno . Guatemalan point guard Astrid Garcia (165-1995) added 10 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals for the hosts. Salvadorenas 2 have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Santa Tecla 2 and Batanecas. Santiagueno lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with six games lost.
