Twelfth-rankedVerdirrojo (6-13) was very close to win a game against first ranked Olimpia (16-4) in Montevideo on Wednesday. Olimpia managed to secure only two-point victory 87-85 . However their fans expected much easier game. Olimpia looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of DNicolas Delgado (198-1987) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Forward Rodrigo Brause (194-1995) contributed with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Olimpia players scored in double figures. American forward Randy Rickards (201-2000, college: WILMU) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and forward Omar Senande (-2003) added 19 points in the effort for Verdirrojo. Olimpia maintains first position with 16-4 record. Verdirrojo lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth place with 13 games lost.
