The biggest surprise took place in San Salvador where hostSan Salvador (11-1) beat league's leader Metapan (10-1) 77-73 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Metapan. It was a key game for the top position in the league. San Salvador looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Cuban point guard Arlenys Romero (176-1984) who scored 32 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Cuban Anisleidys Galindo (181-1989) chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-1984) produced a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 21 rebounds and American point guard Britney Jones (174-1987, college: UAB) added 13 points and 10 assists respectively for the guests. San Salvador have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Metapan at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by San Salvador.
