There was an upset in Montevideo where higher rankedColon (12-11) was defeated by fourteenth ranked Verdirrojo (7-14) 76-68 on Thursday. Verdirrojo outrebounded Colon 50-32 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Randy Rickards (201-2000, college: WILMU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import guard Taalib Holloman (193, college: WILMU) who added 22 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Guillermo Curbelo (187-2001) with 25 points and 5 rebounds and forward Manuel Oyenard (194-2000) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Colon players scored in double figures. Verdirrojo maintains fourteenth position with 7-14 record. Loser Colon keeps the sixth place with 11 games lost.
