There was no surprise in Santurce where 8th rankedHatillo (1-5) was defeated by top-ranked Cangrejeras (5-0) 68-53 on Monday. Santurce forced 20 Hatillo turnovers. Strangely Hatillo outrebounded Santurce 49-37 including a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Kamaria McDaniel (178-1999, college: Michigan St.) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Shae Kelley (185-1991, college: Minnesota) who added 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Guard Kristen Spolyar (178-1997, college: Butler) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Adrienne Williams (180-1991, college: Illinois) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cangrejeras have an impressive five-game winning streak. Santurce moved-up to second place. Hatillo lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with five games lost.
