We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in San Salvador where 5th rankedSalvadorenos (2-2) were crushed by sixth ranked Metapan (2-1) 72-53 on Tuesday. Metapan outrebounded Salvadorenos 59-42 including 22 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) who had a double-double by scoring 32 points and 24 rebounds. Puerto Rican forward Xavier Zambrana (193-1991) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Colombian Michael Parra (201-1995) produced 9 points and 16 rebounds and Spanish guard Lazaro Gonzalez (190-1993) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. Salvadorenos' coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Metapan moved-up to fourth place. Loser Salvadorenos keep the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Independiente.
