There was no surprise in Mercedes where 5th rankedRemeros (1-8) were defeated by third ranked Aguada (7-2) 64-51 on Saturday. Aguada forced 28 Remeros turnovers and had a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Brazilian center Maria Ferreira (192-1994) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and guard Joaquina Gregorio (168-2001) chipped in 19 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Aguada's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Valeria Barrett (175-2000) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Argentinian center Ornela Bacchini (188-1989, college: OLLU, agency: BIG) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Aguada maintains third place with 7-2 record having just one point less than leader Juventud. Loser Remeros keep the fifth position with eight games lost.
