An interesting game whereLares (#8) won against host Carolina (#4) 78-73 on Monday evening. Lares made 25-of-28 free shots (89.3 percent) during the game, while Gigantes only scored six points from the stripe. They outrebounded Gigantes 42-30 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Tess Amundsen (185-1999, college: CSUN) who led her team to a victory scoring 24 points. Her fellow American import guard Juicy Landrum (173-1997, college: Baylor) helped adding 14 points and 11 assists. Amundsen is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The former international point guard Charity Harris (163-1991, college: Bluefield St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and American forward Teana Muldrow (188-1995, college: WVU) scored 25 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lares (4-6) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Isabela. Defending champion Carolina keeps the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Moca.
