Regular Season Round 36: Santos - Freseras 71-117

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in San Luis Potosi where 11th rankedSantos (12-17) were outplayed by twelfth ranked Freseras (11-17) 117-71 on Thursday. Freseras dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Santos ' 34. They outrebounded Santos 47-28 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Freseras looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Santos ' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jimond Ivey (196-1996, college: Akron) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import guard Khalil Iverson (196-1997, college: Wisconsin) who added 14 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Freseras' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Turkish Alihan Demir (206-1996, college: Minnesota) with 20 points and 7 rebounds and American swingman Mario Kegler (201-1997, college: Baylor, agency: BIG) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Five Freseras and four Santos players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Freseras went down to fourteenth position due to points difference. Santos lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth place with 17 games lost.
