Rather expected game in Comodoro Rivadavia where 7th ranked Penarol (6-8) was defeated by fourth ranked Gimnasia (11-6) 79-61. It was a good game for the former international Sebastian Vega (200-88) who led his team to a victory with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Juan Manuel Rivero (191-85) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Four Gimnasia players scored in double figures. American forward Tony Mitchell (203-92, college: N.Texas) replied with 15 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Franco Pennacchiotti (205-90) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Penarol. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gimnasia maintains fourth position with 11-6 record. Penarol at the other side keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. Gimnasia's next round opponent will be Ferro (#9) in Buenos Aires where they are favorite. Penarol will play at home against San Lorenzo and hope to win that game.
