Regular Season Round 10: Pinheiros - Bauru 89-92

Thirteenth-ranked Pinheiros (4-11) used its home court advantage to challenge fourth ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (11-4) in Sao Paulo on Tuesday. The visitors from Bauru managed to secure only three-point victory 92-89. However their fans expected much easier game. Paschoalotto/Bauru looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Gui Deodato Pereira (192-91) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. American power forward Tyrone Curnell (203-88, college: Valdosta St.) contributed with 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Uruguayan point guard Mauro Zubiaurre (189-94) replied with 21 points and 4 assists and the former international Guilherme Teichmann (204-83, college: Tulsa) added 9 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Pinheiros. Five Paschoalotto/Bauru and four Pinheiros players scored in double figures. Pinheiros' coach David Pelosini rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Paschoalotto/Bauru moved-up to third place, which they share with Sao Paulo. Pinheiros lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Paschoalotto/Bauru will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pinheiros will play again on the road against Paschoalotto/Bauru (#3) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
