Regular Season Round 34: Platense - Penarol 83-62
Date: January 15, 2021
There was no surprise in Florida where 8th ranked Penarol (6-11) was crushed by sixth ranked CA Platense (8-10) 83-62. Point guard Facundo Vazquez (185-98) notched 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and center Julian Aprea (210-87) supported him with 19 points. Even 15 points by the former international point guard Diego Gerbaudo (178-89) did not help to save the game for Penarol. Tomas Monacchi (196-97) added 12 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CA Platense moved-up to fifth place. Penarol lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost.
