We should not miss a road victory of eighth ranked La Union (7-12) over 5th ranked Olimpico de La Banda (11-11) 81-73. La Union players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The best player for the winners was power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-85) who scored 20 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Naturalized Italian swingman Federico Marin (199-82) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Gaston Whelan (187-94) produced 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and the former international Eric Flor (190-93) added 18 points respectively for the hosts. Five La Union and four Olimpico de La Banda players scored in double figures. Olimpico de La Banda's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. La Union moved-up to sixth place. Olimpico de La Banda at the other side keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. La Union's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Instituto in Cordoba and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Olimpico de La Banda will play on the road against San Martin Corrientes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
