An exciting game was played in Sao Paulo. Second ranked Argentinian Quimsa faced leader Brazilian Sao Paulo. Guests from Santiado del Estero (3-1) defeated host Sao Paulo (2-1) 73-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sao Paulo. It was a key game for the top position in Group B. The guests were ahead by 5 points but lost the second period ending it with a 3-point deficit before their 24-13 run, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American Brandon Robinson (196-89, college: Clayton St.) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Diamon Simpson (204-87, college: St.Mary's, CA) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Quimsa's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Kenny Dawkins (172-87, college: Lamar) answered with 19 points and power forward Lucas Mariano (208-93) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Sao Paulo. Five Sao Paulo players scored in double figures. Defending Argentinian champion keeps a position of Group B leader. Sao Paulo at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. Quimsa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sao Paulo will play on the road against Universidad de Concepcion and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
