Third ranked Chilean Universidad de Concepcion (1-3) saved a 2-point victory at home edging their biggest opponent Brazilian Sao Paulo (2-2) 78-76 on Saturday evening. Sao Paulo was ahead by 7 points at the halftime before a 27-13 third quarter run of Universidad de Concepcion. South African forward Pieter Prinsloo (208-92, college: Marist, agency: Promo Sport ID) had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Brandon Moss (208, college: LSUA) chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side power forward Lucas Mariano (208-93) responded with 22 points and American guard Cordero Bennett (185-88) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Universidad de Concepcion and five Sao Paulo players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Universidad de Concepcion went down to sixth position (Group B) due to points difference. Sao Paulo at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
