Very significant was Brazilian Vivo/Franca's (#2, 2-2) victory against 3rd placed Argentinian Obras (0-4) 84-80. Obras were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Forward Lucas Silva (208-95) nailed 24 points for the winning side and point guard Elio Corazza (192-89, college: Miami Dade CC) accounted for 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Fernando Zurbriggen (185-97, agency: Duran International) came up with 22 points and 5 assists and Peruvian point guard Juan Pablo Venegas (183-0) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively for Obras in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Obras' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vivo/Franca maintains second place in Group C with 2-2 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Titanes. Obras at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Vivo/Franca will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Obras will play again on the road against the league's second-placed Vivo/Franca in Sao Paulo and hope to get finally their first victory.
