The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Bolivian Carl A-Z in Medellin. Visitors were edged by Colombian Leonas 67-66. It looked good early as Carl A-Z took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Leonas had a 25-16 second period charge getting the lead and Carl A-Z was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-67. American guard Katrina Pardee (175, college: WVU) came up with 29 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Lydia Baxter (183, college: SHSU) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Carl A-Z in the defeat. Leonas will play against Pastoras de Lara in Barquisimeto in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Carl A-Z will play on the road against Audaz in Machala and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
