Regular Season Round 2: Leonas - Pastoras de Lara 93-65

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Venezuelan Pastoras de Lara in Medellin on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by Colombian Leonas 93-65. The game without a history. Leonas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Jenifer Munoz (170-91) who scored 21 points and 6 assists. Colombian guard Maria Palacio (172-85) chipped in 15 points. Yosimar Corrales (184-90) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and forward Ivaney Marquez (181-83, college: Grayson County) added 13 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Leonas is looking forward to face Audaz in Machala in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pastoras de Lara will play at home against Carl A-Z and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
