Regular Season Round 4: Capitol - Malvin 91-81

Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Capitol (#8) and Malvin (#1). Capitol (2-2) won against visiting Malvin (4-1) 91-81. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Malvin. The winners were led by American guard Davaunta Thomas (196-95, college: UAFS) who scored that evening 15 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and the other American import center Paul Harrison (204-89, college: NGU) supported him with 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Thomas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 23 points and 5 rebounds by American-Mexican forward Aaron Fuller (198-89, college: USC, agency: Haylett Sports) did not help to save the game for Malvin. Swingman Nicola Pomoli (195-99) added 11 points and 15 rebounds for lost side. Five Capitol and four Malvin players scored in double figures. Malvin's coach Federico Camina tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Capitol moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Defensor and Aguada. Loser Malvin still keeps top position with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
