A very close game took place in Tepic between Mexcaltecas and Racers. Mexcaltecas (3-0) got a very close home victory over Racers (0-3). Mexcaltecas managed to escape with a 2-point win 69-67 on Saturday evening. It was an exceptional evening for Guatemalan Linda Gonzalez (178-92) who led the winners and scored 12 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. The former international forward Sofia Moreno (185-88) accounted for 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Four Mexcaltecas players scored in double figures. Montsserrat Castaneda came up with 22 points and 7 rebounds and the former international Ana Renteria (-85) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Racers in the defeat. Racers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mexcaltecas will again meet at home Racers (#5) in the next round. Racers will have a break next round.
