Regular Season Round 24: Franca - Cerrado 93-81
Date: April 4, 2021
Very predictable result in Sao Paulo where seventh ranked Vivo/Franca (15-14) defeated 13th ranked Cerrado (7-19) 93-81. It was a great shooting night for Vivo/Franca especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. The winners were led by international forward Lucas Silva (208-95) who scored that evening 41 points (!!!) and the former international Andre Bresolin (195-87) supported him with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 19 points and 5 rebounds by naturalized American guard Kevin Crescenzi (193-93, college: Dartmouth) did not help to save the game for Cerrado. Guard Paulo Da Costa (193-94) added 19 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vivo/Franca maintains seventh position with 15-14 record. Cerrado lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth place with 19 games lost. Vivo/Franca will play against Fortaleza (#10) on the road in the next round. Cerrado will play against the league's leader Flamengo where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
