The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Olimpia as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Olimpia defeated 3rd placed Urunday in Montevideo 102-95. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Olimpia forced 19 Urunday turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Lithuanian center Zygimantas Riauka (206-93, college: UW-Parkside) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and American guard Skyler Hogan (196-97, college: SEMO) chipped in 23 points. American guard Marcus Elliott (196-84, college: Louisiana Tech) responded with 22 points and the other American import forward Tyrone Lee (206-90, college: GVSU) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four Olimpia and five Urunday players scored in double figures. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Malvin and Nacional. Urunday at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with Aguada. Urunday will play next round against strong Bigua trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena of Bigua. Olimpia will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Trouville. It will be extra interesting game as Trouville is their local rival from Montevideo.
