Regular Season Round 5: Nacional - Trouville 81-75
Date: April 6, 2021
Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Nacional (#3) and Trouville (#10). Despite it looked like an easy game for Nacional, those rules do not exist in derby games. It's more the case of honor for local supporters and such games have that special and unique approach you cannot find in other games. Guest Trouville challenged much higher ranked Nacional giving them a very tough game, but finally losing it by six points 81-75. Nacional made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Nacional had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American Dominique Morrison (198-89, college: ORU, agency: Haylett Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. American-Puerto Rican Devon Collier (203-91, college: Oregon St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Four Nacional players scored in double figures. Nacional's coach Leonardo Zylberstein used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Argentinian swingman Federico Mariani (190-92) produced 17 points and 9 assists and Italian-Argentinian center Damian Tintorelli (205-81) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Nacional (4-1) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Olimpia and Malvin. Loser Trouville keeps the tenth place with four games lost. They share the position with Penarol. Nacional's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo .
