Regular Season Round 26: Campo Mourao - Corinthians 74-86

Very expected game when 15th ranked Campo Mourao (6-23) lost at home to sixth ranked Corinthians (17-11) 86-74 on Thursday. Forward Lucas Siewert (208-97, college: Colorado) notched 14 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Malcolm Miller (201-91, college: Southern) supported him with 19 points. Five Corinthians players scored in double figures. Even 38 points (!!!) (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) by American guard Anton Cook (189-95, college: SE Oklahoma) did not help to save the game for Campo Mourao. Argentinian point guard Juan Pablo Figueroa (185-86, agency: Interperformances) added 10 points and 8 assists for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Corinthians maintains sixth position with 17-11 record. Campo Mourao lost fifteenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth place with 23 games lost. Corinthians will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Campo Mourao will play against Pinheiros (#14) in Sao Paulo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
