Important game to mention about took place in Fortaleza. Fifteenth ranked Campo Mourao (6-23) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging higher ranked Fortaleza (13-15) 84-83 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. American guard Anton Cook (189-95, college: SE Oklahoma) scored 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Argentinian point guard Juan Pablo Figueroa (185-86, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 13 points and 7 assists during the contest. American guard Rashaun McLemore (195-86, college: CSUN) responded with 26 points and the former international forward Felipe Ribeiro (203-79) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Fortaleza players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Campo Mourao maintains fifteenth position with 6-23 record. Fortaleza at the other side dropped to the tenth place with 15 games lost. Campo Mourao will play against higher ranked Pinheiros (#14) in Sao Paulo in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Fortaleza will play at home against Paulistano (#4) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
