Regular Season Round 6: Algodoneras - Racers 60-70

An interesting game was also tough home defeat of 3rd ranked Algodoneras in a game in Torreon versus Racers (#5) 70-60. Racers forced 21 Algodoneras turnovers. Nicole Millender notched 19 points to lead the effort and Ana Bernal supported her with 8 points and 9 rebounds. Even 15 points and 9 rebounds by American guard Brittany Byrd (175, college: UIC) did not help to save the game for Algodoneras. Jocelyn Gandara added 17 points and 4 assists. Algodoneras' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Racers (2-4) moved-up to third place, which they share with Quetzales and Barreteras. Algodoneras at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Racers will meet at home Marineras (#5) in the next round. Algodoneras will play against Barreteras and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
