Regular Season Round 8: Aguila - Santa Ana 88-85

The most exciting game of round 8 in the Liga MB took place in San Miguel. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Santa Ana (7-2) to sixth ranked Aguila (3-5) 88-85 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Santa Ana. The best player for the winners was Puerto Rican guard Victor Carattini (185-92, college: PR-Bayamon) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. Cuban Oreste Torres (204-87) chipped in 24 points and 8 rebounds. Four Aguila players scored in double figures. American Eddie Ishman (196-86, college: Miles) produced a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import center Marc Montavious (206-90, college: Georgetown, KY) added 17 points and 16 rebounds respectively for the guests. Aguila moved-up to fifth place. Santa Ana at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Aguila are looking forward to face higher ranked Cojute (#4) in Cojutepeque in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Santa Ana will play on the road against Brujos in Izalco and is hoping to win this game.
