Regular Season Round 9: Lobas - Algodoneras 81-73

LMBPF top team - Lobas (8-1) added another victory to their record. This time they beat fifth ranked Algodoneras (1-8) in Ciudad de Mexico 81-73. Lobas made 20-of-23 charity shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Lobas outrebounded Algodoneras 50-37 including 36 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Maria Faz who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. The former international point guard Paola Beltran (164-94) chipped in 20 points. Lobas' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Brittany Byrd (175, college: UIC) who recorded 28 points and 8 rebounds and Rayven Lasem added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Lobas have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-1 record, which they share with Mieleras and Aztks. Algodoneras lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the fifth position with eight games lost. Lobas' next round opponent will be again Algodoneras (#5) in Torreon.
