Minas outscored Franca to surge ahead in the quarterfinal series. It was a great shooting night for Minas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.1 percentage. American guard David Jackson (190-82, college: Penn St.) nailed 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Uruguayan guard Luciano Parodi (189-94) accounted for 17 points. Four Minas players scored in double figures. International forward Lucas Silva (208-95) came up with 35 points (!!!) and 4 assists and the former international point guard Elinho Corazza (192-89, college: Miami Dade CC) added 8 points and 8 assists respectively for Vivo/Franca in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
