An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Guanajuato. Second ranked Mieleras faced 3rd placed Escaramuzas. Host Mieleras (9-2) defeated guests from Jalisco (5-6) 69-60. Mieleras outrebounded Escaramuzas 49-36 including 34 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for the former international guard Brisa Silva (170-84, college: OK State) who led her team to a victory scoring 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Jaterra Bonds (170-92, college: Florida) helped adding 18 points. The former international forward Gladiana Avila (177-94) responded with 24 points and American center Jordan Wallace (190, college: Rutgers, agency: Gamble Sports Management) scored 8 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mieleras maintains second place with 9-2 record behind leader Aztks. Loser Escaramuzas keep the third position with six games lost. They share it with Mexcaltecas and Barreteras. Mieleras will again meet at home Escaramuzas (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Escaramuzas will have a break next round.
