Regular Season Round 11: Quetzales - Barreteras 75-86

The biggest surprise of round 11 in LMBPF was guest Barreteras' (#3) road victory over Quetzales (#4) 86-75 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Quetzales. Barreteras forced 21 Quetzales turnovers and had a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Paola Estrada (172-93, agency: DC Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. American swingman Kayla Roberts (185-96, college: Norfolk St.) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds. Roberts is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Cuban center Clenia Noblet (190-87) produced 16 points and 9 rebounds and Cuban forward Yulianne Rodriguez (185-82) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Barreteras and four Quetzales players scored in double figures. Barreteras maintains third place with 5-6 record having five points less than leader Aztks, which they share with Mexcaltecas and Escaramuzas. Quetzales at the other side keep the fourth position with seven games lost. Barreteras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Quetzales will play again at home against Barreteras (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
