An interesting game for Lobas (11-1) which hosted in Ciudad de Mexico second-best Racers (6-6). First ranked Lobas managed to get a 14-point victory 83-69. Lobas made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Lobas outrebounded Racers 44-26 including 33 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Russian forward Julia Gladkova (185-94) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international forward Jacqueline Luna-Castro (188-93, college: Charleston) who added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Lobas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Nicole Millender with 22 points and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Charisse Burruel scored 19 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lobas have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-1 record, which they share with Aztks. Newly promoted Racers keep the second place with six games lost. They share the position with Mexcaltecas and Barreteras. Lobas will play against Barreteras (#3) in Zacatecas in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Racers will play at home against Mexcaltecas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
