An interesting game for Mexcaltecas (9-7) which hosted in Tepic 4th ranked Barreteras (6-10). Third ranked Mexcaltecas managed to get a 8-point victory 56-48. Mexcaltecas held Barreteras to an opponent 23.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.6 percent accuracy of the winners. The winners were led by Colombian center Narlyn Mosquera (197-89) who scored that evening 19 points and 7 rebounds and Colombian forward Luz Asprilla (183-92) supported her with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Mexcaltecas' coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 17 points and 6 rebounds by American guard Ashanti Hunt (180-96, college: BCU) did not help to save the game for Barreteras. The former international power forward Rosaura Guardiola (180-91) added 12 points for lost side. Mexcaltecas moved-up to second place, which they share with Escaramuzas. Barreteras lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with ten games lost. Mexcaltecas will meet at home league's leader Lobas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Barreteras will play against Algodoneras and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
