Regular Season Round 16: Racers - Algodoneras 62-70

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Racers (8-8) against fifth ranked Algodoneras (2-14) on Sunday night. Host Racers were defeated by Algodoneras in a tough game in Saltillo 62-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Racers. Algodoneras forced 19 Racers turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Tylinn Carter (185-95, college: Pepperdine) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import guard Brittany Byrd (175, college: UIC) who added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Algodoneras players scored in double figures. Algodoneras' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Nicole Millender responded with 24 points and Paloma Flores scored 7 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Newly promoted Algodoneras maintains fifth position with 2-14 record. Racers at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the third place with eight games lost. Algodoneras will play against higher ranked Barreteras (#4) in Zacatecas in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Racers will play on the road against Marineras in Puerto Vallarta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
