Quarter-Finals Round 2: Storm - Cafeteros 74-99
Date: May 24, 2021
Cafeteros overcame Storm to secure the semifinal berth. Cafeteros made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Cafeteros had a 25-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Dominican guard Brandone Francis (196-94, college: Texas Tech) notched 28 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international forward Andres Ibarguen (198-96, college: Angelo St.) supported him with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Four Cafeteros players scored in double figures. Even 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists by Argentinian Matias Solanas (192-98) did not help to save the game for Storm. International power forward Luis Almanza (196-91) added 16 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
