Regular Season Round 37: CAO Ceres - Barrio Parque 67-79

Very expected game when 9th ranked Olimpico (9-15) lost to fourth ranked Barrio Parque (16-7) in Ceres 67-79 on Tuesday. Strangely Olimpico outrebounded Barrio Parque 38-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Quite impressive performance for point guard Luciano Guerra (184-97) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Emiliano Rossi (199-88) contributed with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Barrio Parque players scored in double figures. Barrio Parque's coach E Villafane used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Gonzalo Guevara (196-98) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds and guard Alejo Crotti (188-92) added 25 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (made all of his fifteen free throws !!!) in the effort for Olimpico. Barrio Parque moved-up to second place. Loser Olimpico dropped to the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Barrio Parque will face Independiente (#15) in Santiago del Estero in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Olimpico will play at home against Ameghino (#6) and hope to win that game.
