There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Estudiantes O. (10-9) edged higher ranked Lanus (12-11) in Olavarria 76-73 on Friday. Swingman Matias Sesto (190-91) notched 19 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and swingman Elnes Bolling (193-91) supported him with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Estudiantes O.'s coach Marcelo Macias used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 19 points and 15 rebounds by American forward Justin Everett (206-96, college: Humboldt St.) did not help to save the game for Lanus. His fellow American import forward Leon Gilmore III (201-95, college: SF Austin) added 20 points and 6 rebounds. Estudiantes O. have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place. Newly promoted Lanus dropped to the sixth position with 11 games lost. Estudiantes O. will meet Rivadavia (#14) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Lanus will have a break next round.
