Regular Season Round 4: Quebradillas - Ponce 93-96

A very close game took place in Quebradillas between Leones and Piratas. Sixth ranked Leones (1-2) got a very close victory on the road over one of their biggest challengers Piratas (1-2). Leones managed to escape with a 3-point win 96-93 in the fight for the fourth place. Leones looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Dominican Victor Liz (193-86) fired 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Naturalized American forward Jose Guitian (207-87, college: Lasell) chipped in 19 points. American point guard Tu Holloway (183-89, college: Xavier) produced 32 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!) and international forward Jose Rodriguez (201-92, college: Texas Southern) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Leones left bottom position moving up to fourth place, which they share with Quebradillas. Leones will meet league's second-placed Indios in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Piratas will play against Grises and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
