An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Guayama. Second ranked Brujos faced 3rd placed Gigantes. Host Brujos (4-1) defeated guests from Carolina (2-2) 91-83. Brujos outrebounded Gigantes 44-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The former international forward Christopher Ortiz (203-93, college: Kent St., agency: Network Sports International) stepped up and scored 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and American swingman Kyle Gibson (196-87, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Slash Sports) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Brujos' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. International forward Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-94, college: Towson) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized American Wil Martinez (188-92, college: Fairmont St.) scored 21 points. Five Brujos and four Gigantes players scored in double figures. Brujos maintains second place with 4-1 record behind leader Arecibo which they share with defeated Gigantes. Loser Gigantes dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Brujos will meet Cariduros (#6) in the next round. Gigantes will play against Mets (#5) and hope to secure a win.
