Regular Season Round 6: San German - Quebradillas 86-95

Round 6 most important game was a victory of Piratas over one of their biggest challengers Atleticos 95-86 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It was a great shooting night for Piratas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for American point guard Tu Holloway (183-89, college: Xavier) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. The other American import forward Will Daniels (202-86, college: URI) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Piratas' coach Eddie Casiano used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Paris Bass (203-95, college: Detroit) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and Nigerian power forward Alade Aminu (207-87, college: Georgia Tech) added 16 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Atleticos. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Piratas (3-2) moved-up to second place, which they share with Carolina. Atleticos at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Ponce and Santurce. Piratas is looking forward to face league's leader Vaqueros in Bayamon in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Atleticos will play at home against Indios and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
